Join THA, in partnership with the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, and Advocates for Women and Kids Equality (AWAKE) for Intimate Partner Violence: The Critical Role of Healthcare Providers, a webinar to educate healthcare providers and staff on the important role that they play in the recognition of intimate partner violence (IPV) and the appropriate actions they can take in order to support individuals experiencing IPV. 
During the webinar attendees will hear from a survivor and a panel of experts as they discuss:
  • Intimate partner violence, nationally and within Tennessee, and factors that influence IPV
  •  The impact of COIVD-19 on family relationships and IPV
  • The pivotal role that healthcare providers play in identifying and treating IPV, and the legality of reporting
  • Resources available within the local community to assist IPV victims

  • Kathy Walsh, Executive Director, Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence
  • Autumn Davis, IPV survivor
  • Bill Smock, MD, Emergency medicine physician and Director of the Clinical Forensic Medicine Program,   Louisville, Kentucky Police Department
  • Meera Ballal, J.D., M.Ed., Women’s Health Initiative
The webinar will be held on Thursday, October 1, and marks the beginning of a month-long campaign for Domestic Violence Awareness month.
