Tuesday, March 3 - Doctor's Day on the Hill

Doctors’ Day on the Hill is TMA and NAM’s annual policy briefing and lobby day designed to encourage physicians, residents, and students to participate in the legislative process and advocate top healthcare issues affecting the medical profession. NAM members have the opportunity to educate their local lawmakers, attend committee hearings, and share personal stories about the issues affecting Tennessee patients and the practice of medicine. The event is Free for all NAM and TMA members, students, residents, alliance members, and practice administrators, but registration is required.Visit tnmed.org/day-on-the-hill to sign up.

Thursday, March 12 - Wellness Webinar Series
Physicians That Thrive: Fostering Resilience Through Connection

This session focuses on the critical role of peer support and professional community in promoting clinician wellbeing, resilience and retention. Participants will examine evidence-based strategies—such as peer mentoring, reflective practice groups, and affinity-based communities—to build inclusive, trust-based networks that foster psychological safety and belonging. The speakers will discuss the development of a personalized plan to enhance peer connection and engagement within one's own professional setting, using strengths-based approaches aligned with individual and institutional values. Additionally, participants will review key literature supporting the effectiveness of coaching and peer support.Date: Thursday, March 12

Tuesday, April 7 - Wellness Webinar Series
Medical Malpractice: Pitfalls and Prevention Strategies

This session aims to equip physicians with the awareness and tools to recognize common medical malpractice risks and their emotional and professional impact, while emphasizing the importance of systems thinking and proactive strategies to reduce risk. Participants will explore methods for maintaining resilience and psychological safety through peer support, institutional resources, and personal coping skills. Finally, they will develop a personalized plan for managing high-risk clinical situations that balances legal risk reduction with practices that sustain wellbeing, compassion and professional identity.Date: Tuesday, April 7

Saturday, May 2 - 2026 House of Delegates and TMA Annual Meeting

The191st TMA House of Delegates and Annual Meeting will be held in Franklin, TN on Saturday, May 2nd at the Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, TN. Voting and presentation of resolutions will be done in person, according to current Bylaws.

  • First Session: Official seating of delegates, introduction of resolutions and reports of officers and committees.
  • Second Session: Discussion and voting on the resolutions and bylaws presented to the House for consideration, election of Speaker and Vice Speaker, and installation of President.

Thursday, May 7 - Wellness Webinar Series
Systems-Level Burnout Solutions Using the Six Domains of Burnout

This session aims to equip physicians with the knowledge and skills to address clinician burnout at a systemic level. Participants will explore how organizational structures and culture contribute to burnout, evaluate evidence-based interventions that promote wellbeing and professional fulfillment, and develop actionable plans to implement sustainable changes within their own institutions. Additionally, participants will learn strategies to engage and gain support from administrative leadership to effectively drive these initiatives forward.

The Board of the Medical Foundation of Nashville invites all Nashville Academy of Medicine members to join in an evening of dinner and dancing on Saturday, October 3rd to celebrate physicians while supporting the programs of MFN.

Thursday, December 3 - NAM / MFN Holiday Open House

The Nashville Academy of Medicine and the Medical Foundation of Nashville Boards of Directors invite our members, volunteers, and community partners to join us for our annual Holiday Open House. You're invited to visit our office space while enjoying an evening of refreshments and celebration.
