The Nashville Academy of Medicine and Tennessee Medical Association are membership organizations. The services we offer and the activities we become involved in are at the direction of the membership. Funds to support these activities are generated primarily through membership dues. Membership is open to those who are an MD, DO, or physicians in training.
Membership in NAM / TMA aligns you with more than 9,500 practicing physicians across the state of Tennessee and more than 2,300 in the Nashville region. The primary mission of TMA is to serve as the main advocate for physician members in the state legislature, to the insurance industry and to the regulatory authorities. NAM provides ongoing educational opportunities to physicians in all specialties and stands as a vital information resource for today’s practicing physicians. TMA provides legal and governmental consultation, public relations and policy development support, practice management services and a voice in ever-evolving practice of medicine to every member of the organization.
Membership is ‘unified’ meaning that to be a member of one, we welcome you into membership for both the Nashville Academy of Medicine and Tennessee Medical Association. Membership is open to all physicians who either reside or practice in Davidson County. Once your application is approved by the membership committee and board, you will receive notification of your active status. A membership packet will be provided to you with information on the benefits and services of the NAM / TMA and your membership ID, and website login information.
